Every player must complete the health assessment screening at least 1 hour prior to any team event. Click the link above and follow the form, answering every question. The information will be gathered by your manager and used to plan for the gathering. If this is not complete, the player will not be allowed on to be with the team.

My name is Rhonda Hykawy for those of you who don’t know me, I was the manager last year and have managed a few teams over the years my boys have been in hockey. I will be the Interim Manager for the Boys U-15 Rep Team. If you have any questions please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or call or text me on my cell 250-267-6258. Our Head coach this year is Owen Thomas and Assistant Coach Troy Weil they will also have others on the ice helping them on the ice.
PLAYER HEALTH SURVEY- you will need to complete the player health survey prior to each ice time, this can be found on the WLMHA website under the U-15 Rep tab, this needs to be completed atleast 1 hour prior to the ice time, if the survey is not competed, the player will not be allowed on the ice. If you have any issues accessing the survey please let me know.
PLAYER AND PARENT CONTRACT – there will also be a player/parent contract to sign prior to going on the first ice time. This needs to be signed by any parent or family member bringing the player to the rink during tryouts and the player of course. This can be found on the main page of the website labelled Player/Parent Return to Play Contract. Please bring it with you to the rink completed, if you have someone else bring them to the rink on different days they will also need to sign it and bring it with them.
FIRST PRACTICE- please arrive 30 mins prior to the ice time, check in at the table and get changed in your designated dressing room. This is the only time you will arrive 30 mins prior the rest of the ice times arrive 15 mins prior. If you can’t be dressed and ready in 15 mins you will need to partially dress at home before you get to the rink. The dressing rooms will only be open 15 mins prior to each ice time.
ENTRY AND EXIT TO THE RINK – please use the far hockey entrance when arriving at the rink and obey the arrows and pathways set out by the arena staff.
DRESSING ROOMS- Each team will have 2 dressing rooms and you have been divided into those 2 dressing rooms, see below the dressing room you have been assigned. Please go to the same dressing room and spot each practice, these will be the same for the first 3 practices. Please remember to sanitize your hands immediately upon entry into the dressing room, please stay in your spots and respect the social distancing rules while at the rink. No parents shall be in the change room area this is for players and coaches only.
JERSEYS - Your player will be assigned a jersey for the weeks of tryouts, they will be responsible for their jersey during these 2 weeks and it must be turned in on the last day of tryouts. Please don’t jam the jersey into the hockey bag where it can be cut, ripped or snagged on other items as we are trying to keep them in the best shape we can for games.
WATER BOTTLES – the players will NOT be able to fill there water bottles at the rink, please ensure your player brings enough water with them for the practice. GOALIES – you will be on the ice both team practices, please ensure you have enough water!!
SHOWERS –there will be NO showers available until further notice at the rink.
CHECKING CLINIC – there is a mandatory checking clinic for anyone who has not played U-15 rep level hockey with checking before, if you have played before and you want to attend the clinic that will be fine. Please confirm with me if you are coming to the clinic so we can have the numbers ahead of time to arrange dressing rooms ect.. This will be held on Saturday Sept 12 at 2 – 3:30 pm.
DURING TRYOUTS – parents please respect the coaches, organizers and evaluators while at the rink. Please given them the space they need to carry out their jobs. Please don’t ask them any questions about the players or how things are going. If you have any questions please direct them to me, if I don’t have an answer I will find you one.
PLAYER MEETINGS – after the last ice time on Sunday Sept 20 the coaches will meet with each player, please hand in your jersey’s at that time. There will be more information coming closer to this date. Please be prepared to be at the rink for awhile after the game, it will take sometime to get through all the players.
PARENT MEETING – there will be a parent meeting on Sunday Sept 13 at 1:30 pm at the rink, one parent from each family must attend.
ABSENCE – If you are not feeling well, please don’t come to practice. If you are going to miss a practice please let me know as soon as possible and the reason why.
RETURN TO PLAY DOCUMENT – everyone has been emailed the return to play document, It can also be found on the website. Please ensure any parent or relative that are bringing players to the rink read this document. This has lots of information in it about who can come to the rink, when you can come to the rink and what to do while at the rink. Please follow the arrows and routes at the arena and respect the social distancing rules.
PLAYER MOVEMENT – we have divided the group into 2 teams, there maybe a need to shuffle players around during games or practice times, please don’t panic if your players is moved to another team or position. We want to give each player the best opportunity to do their best during tryouts.
